BIS Hallmarking is done by the Bureau of Indian Standards and certifies the purity of the gold. 916 purity indicates that the gold is 91.6% pure which is 22 karat gold. Hallmarking is done at Government certified testing centres where jewellery is melted down and tested for its purity and a laser engraving is made on the jewellery.
In all Khazana showrooms in India, every ornament is individually hallmarked. This means that both the earrings in a pair of earrings will be hallmarked unlike at other jewellers’.
International Gemological Institute provides certification for responsibly sourced diamonds, certifying their color, clarity, cut and carat.
